GVSU Approves Reach In GR Medical Mile

The Board of Trustees of Grand Valley State University has approved the purchase of 11 acres of land in Grand Rapids near the Medical Mile for the expansion of the university's health program.

WOOD TV reports about four blocks of property north of I-196 is expected to cost no more than $18.9 million, including closing and other costs.

The properties GVSU hopes to buy are north of I-196 bordered by Hastings and Trowbridge streets and Clancy and College Avenues. The university already owns four acres in the area north of the Cook-DeVos Center for Health Sciences, which is located at the corner of Michigan Street and Lafayette Avenue NE in Grand Rapids.
