Justin Timberlake is backtracking on some comments he made about British boyband One Direction.
After an interview last week with New York's Power 105.1, he started making headlines for comparing the group to his former boyband *NSync. He was quoted as saying that he was "willing to say" that 'N Sync was "better than them."
When "NME" tweeted about the story using the quote, JT hit back, commenting that he "thought the question was about a pie eating contest." He wrote, "My bad," then poked fun at the controversy by using the hashtag "#newsworthy."
Justin had actually had some positive things to say about One Direction in the original radio interview, including that he does "like those guys" and that it's "interesting to see this whole wave of that come back around."
Check out the full interview below. "Part Two" of Justin's The 20/20 Experience comes out on September 30th.
