(Yahoo!) - It has been well established that Demi Lovato is a hair chameleon, but she seems to have made her boldest color change yet.
The "X Factor" judge has dyed her tresses blue and showed off the daring new look during an appearance on "The Tonight Show" on Wednesday.
The entertainer, who had been blond, was on the show to sing her latest hit song, "Neon Lights," which is off her self-titled fourth album. She didn't discuss her bright new makeover, however, she only performed.
The 21-year-old, whose guest gig on "Glee" begins tonight, has been all about changing up her look in the last couple years, joking on "The Ellen DeGeneres Show, "You've heard I'm bipolar, so I change my hair a lot." She has been a brunette, platinum blonde, and redhead in the last year-plus.
Lovato also test-drove various other hair trends like the ombre look and has dip-dyed the bottom portion of her hair various colors, including blue, pink, and green. However, this is the first time she has dyed her entire head an unconventional color, channeling her inner Kelly Osbourne, who has become known for her lavender locks.
In an interview with omg! last year, Lovato, who gets her hair colored at Nine Zero One Salon in Los Angeles (but is known to box dye her hair when in need of a quick change), said her playfulness with her hair color comes from a newfound self-confidence.
"When I was younger, I never experimented with hairstyles," she said at the time. "Now I'm finally getting confident to experiment, and just trying new things."
Well, she certainly is making up for lost time!
